Don’t Fence Me In is a 36 x 48 original acrylic painting on canvas that transforms a simple vintage matchbox into a tribute to the Western spirit. Featuring a classic bronc rider on the cover, the piece blends nostalgic Americana with my signature bold color palette and layered textures, giving an everyday object new life through contemporary contrast.
This painting is especially personal to me because it reminds me of my grandpa and the shelves filled with little Western antiques he loved to collect. Those worn treasures matchbooks, tins, and old keepsakes sparked my imagination as a child and helped shape my love for the stories, history, and rugged beauty of the American West. This piece is both a celebration of that nostalgia and a reminder that the smallest objects often carry the biggest memories.
