🎨 The Perfect Portrait Palette: Mixing Skin Tones with Confidence
Hosted by Rosanne Schaefer at Tulsa Living Arts
Have you ever struggled to mix just the right skin tone — too pink, too orange, or too muddy? In this hands-on 3–4 hour workshop, professional oil painter Rosanne Schaefer will guide you through building your very own perfect portrait palette.
Through live demonstrations, guided practice, and step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn how to:
- Mix natural-looking skin tones for light, medium, and dark complexions.
- Create warm and cool variations that bring portraits to life.
- Apply your palette to a quick portrait study using oils.
Each participant will leave with:
✔️ A custom skin tone chart they’ve mixed themselves — a ready reference for all future portrait work.
✔️ A small painted study to apply their palette right away.
✔️ A printed workshop guide (5–7 pages) with notes, swatches, and tips to take home.
No prior oil painting experience is required — beginners and intermediate painters alike will benefit from this workshop. All supplies are included.
