When I began this painting, I wanted to dive into a more vibrant and cinematic palette—one that celebrated the glamour and bold femininity of the 1940s. There’s something timeless about that era—the red lips, the sculpted waves, and the confident gaze that seems to hold an untold story.

In “Iconic,” I explored the balance between nostalgia and modernity, capturing not just a face from the past, but the emotion and energy that still feels alive today. I built her with warm, luminous layers of paint, letting the soft violets and coral tones play together to create a glow that feels almost like memory itself.
