December Print Club: Burning Tide

December always feels like a pause — a breath between what has been and what’s coming next. It’s quieter on the surface, but emotionally it’s often one of the most powerful months of the year. 

This painting was born from the moment when the day releases its hold on the horizon, but the ocean refuses to soften. The sky burns, the water surges, and everything feels alive with momentum. I was drawn to the tension between fire and water. Two opposing forces meeting without apology.

For me, Burning Tide represents strength at transition. The reminder that even as light fades, power does not. The tide keeps moving forward. There is beauty in that persistence — especially at the close of a year.

This piece felt like the right way to end the year with you. Bold. Energetic. Unafraid of color or motion. A reminder that whatever this year has brought, you are still standing in your own current — capable, luminous, and moving forward.
