August Print Club: Paws and Reflect

This month’s featured print is titled Paws and Reflect. It’s a playful piece that captures a moment of stillness wrapped in personality—oversized shades, soft lips, and the quiet companionship of a watchful white cat. I loved balancing the bold vibrance of the yellow backdrop with the subtle textures in the figure’s expression and the cat’s fur, letting both confidence and calm shine through.

The title came from a little wordplay—this painting is about pausing, taking a breath, and finding joy in the simple presence of a furry friend. Our pets have a way of keeping us grounded, reminding us to slow down and simply be. This piece carries that spirit of lighthearted reflection, dressed in a pop of color and whimsy.

A little late this month with the busy summer, but I’m already working on September’s work. :)
